Kipper's Countdown to Christmas: 24th December

A dog dressed up for winter pastimes (sledding, sleigh rides) was a great concept for a holiday card. How was I to know that this was going to be the warmest December on record? Even so, my modeling session this year produced so many great pictures that lucky recipients of my annual Kippercard have seen one of two limited-edition images--and I'm now sharing both of them with adoring followers of "The Whole 'Kip' and Kaboodle." Here's the first one!

In this picture from my puppyhood of 2007, I'm dreaming of a white Christmas. Eight years later, it's fifty degrees and foggy with thunderstorms. Last year, I became "the Bark of Avon" for my annual holiday card: an all-time great Kipper moment! All the same, I was disappointed to find out that Hamlet isn't actually a small meat product.

As the holiday season nears, my thoughts always drift toward exotic places, or, more precisely, places that are a whole lot warmer than northern Illinois in December. This festive wanderlust inspired my global traveler-themed Christmas card for 2013: a classic Kipper image!

My first Christmas Card in 2009 was such a critical and commercial triumph that I bowed to popular demand and produced another one in 2010. This time, the picture was me in a lovely Christmas sweater. If I look very stern, it's because Kipper doesn't get out of bed for less than three Milk-Bones--and I hadn't received any yet.

December 2009 witnessed a landmark in global culture, as the first Kipper Christmas Card established what would soon became a beloved annual tradition and 21st-Century pop culture phenomenon. Okay, so this first outing was just a plain old photo of me in a natty Christmas scarf--a far cry from the grand concepts and high production values of subsequent years--but when you're as cute as a Kipper, what else do you really need?
